Delete Your ShieldIQ Account & Data

This page explains how to request deletion of your ShieldIQ account and the personal data associated with it. ShieldIQ is a product of Business Risk Solutions Namibia CC; accounts are provided to you by your employer or organisation.

How to request deletion

To request deletion of your account and personal data, follow these steps:

  1. Send an email to support@myshieldiq.com.
  2. Use the subject line "Delete my ShieldIQ account".
  3. Send it from the email address associated with your ShieldIQ account, so we can verify the request.
  4. We will confirm your identity and process the request.

You will receive confirmation once your account has been deleted.

What data is deleted

On a verified request, we delete the personal data that identifies you, including:

  • your account profile (name and email address);
  • your login credentials and authentication tokens; and
  • your device push-notification tokens.

What data may be kept, and for how long

Safety records you created or contributed to (for example inspections, permits, incident and hazard reports, risk assessments and corrective actions) belong to your employer or organisation, which is the controller of that data. Your organisation may be legally required to retain these health-and-safety records. Where these records are kept, your personal identifiers are removed or disassociated where possible.

We retain limited information only as long as needed to meet legal, accounting or security obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Verified deletion requests are actioned within 30 days, subject to any retention period your organisation is legally required to observe.
